I get a "permission denied" error.

pinging works and i can log into my computer via ftp.

I have teh exportfs setup (I also had to install the 2 nfs*.rpm files from
cdrom manually).

The install that i did was a "custom" > "default" (instead of my usual
experimental, etc).

i've tried logging in as root and trying the mount "manually" but still same
error.

i do know that it is contacting the other computer because entering a different
ip/name, it tends to stall. entering the correct ip generates teh error
immediately.

i've read some newsposts stating where people had to reinstalled/rebuilt kernel
and got it working successfully.

Any thoughts on this?

(this getting complicated, seems to take about 7 days to get everything up and
working if you have knowledge of linux. still somewhat long)
