Mandrake 7.0 (just like 6.1) neglects to start the nfs daemon.
K, System, SysVInit Editor
Resize the window so you can see everything.
Drag and drop nfs from the left-hand column on to Runlevels 3 & 5 Start just
after netfs (will be made #27).
Save and close SysVInit Editor.
Reboot.
Now remote mounts will work, since the SunRPC components (RPC.mountd, etc) are
now active.
Pretty inexcusable on MandrakeSoft's part, don't you think? Never tested in
6.1 or 7.0!
