My next scenario is howto get the desktop veiwed on the other computer (is this
possible???) I can see my /home/user folder but it's assigned to another user.
Well, guess i'm primarily out of this newsgroup on this answer because it
looks like everything works. just somewhat buggy.
ok....after some reluctant configuring. and since i could use a trace prg to
figure out what the reverse dns was trying to compare to this is what i changed
to get NFS working over teh @home network:
The server end should be configured as such:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost # 0
24.13.20.26 cx640888-b 192.168.0.2 # 0
24.88.88.88 cx640888-a 192.168.0.1 # 0
192.168.0.2 cx640888-b.elcjn1.sdca.home.com localhost2 # 0
192.168.0.1 cx640888-a.elcjn1.sdca.home.com localhost1 # 0
0 0 0 # 0
Notice that 24.88.88.88 is just a similar ip to my real one. not giving this
one out. My other computer ip is generally known. it hosts my public ftpd and
httpd.
I know this really, really messy, but it works. Any tips on cleaning up this
mess would help.
>From all this, this will hopefully help many other COX @Home users that have 2
computers with 2 seperate ip's assigned to them. This nfs stuff is sooooo
picky, reminds me of basic programing in 1985.
