Progress Report:
For the fifth day in succession, today's 7.1 rsync dowmload from
aarnet still will not install X or a networking that works or a
remote printing that works.
The runtime attempts to install USB where USB is turned off in my
BIOS and fails, then attempts runlevel 5, fails, attempts runlevel 3
and hangs indefinitely following "Starting linuxconf [ OK ]".
For my configuration and install options see my previous daily
install attempt messages.
I strongly suggest that no further updates to the mirrors be made
until these problems (the basic, very simplest gateway install) are
rectified. Since mandrake quite irresponsibly does not announce
updates and specifically what each one fixes, any change requires me
to attempt a new install - so far totally fruitlessly. This is no
way to run a business.
