During the package selection, I noticed/had some problems:
1) It was going to let me install apache w/out apache-common, even though it's a required package
It depends: it requires either apache-common or apache2-common. The latter is automatically installed if you selected the "Web/FTP" section.
So apache1 can work with just apache2-common?
2) It said HTML-Embperl package has no description, though that's not true.
HTML-Embperl has a description, but apache2-HTML-Embperl did not, because the web site was down when I created the RPM (it was corrected today in -2mdk).
Ahh, ok.
4) It wouldn't let me deslect the package mod_php, even though I had apache2-mod_php selected, which provides everything that was required by other selected packages.
I cannot duplicate this here. Was this an install or an upgrade? If it's an upgrade, you might have some package that required a specific version of mod_php (some Contrib packages did that in 9.0).

Fresh install. I think it's an installer bug, and probably the same bug that wouldn't let me deselect mdkkdm.
