Because it happened post-rc1 (I am sure I tested ACLs in RC1), and I was too busy tracking down the dhcp issues post-rc2, plus I did most of my testing on my laptop, and XFS isn't really for laptops ... and my cooker box still runs 2.4.19-24mdk for Win4lin (it does have an XFS, and I think an ext3 with acl). But, this again shows the following problem: -We are not verifying features in any packages. We us a reactive approach, where we need a pro-active approach. If I had known no-one had tested ACLs before release, I would have done it, but I assumed that the kernel team would test their features. I try and test as many samba features as I can (large files etc), which is why I tested ACLs in RC1, but nothing significant changed since RC1 in samba (and I tested those samba releases rebuilt on 9.0 anyway, with working ACLs etc).
