| I'm kind of surprised that V.90 users would download a whole linux
| distribution these days anyway. I tried that once. Before DSL I would
| download the distro image at work toss it on a jaz disk ( or burn a CD
| at work ) and then install it at home.

I think the point is (from the perspective of a v.90 user) that I
shouldn't *have* to download 900+MB when I already have most of it on
my machine. Sometimes, when we are in the middle of heavy changes, it
can take me a long time to catch up, even with just downloading what I
don't have.

I do have a burner, and I have the disk space (barely). What I lack
is the bandwidth to do the download of an ISO. High speed connections
are unavailable here, and will continue to be unavailable for the
forseeable future. My local telephone company doesn't even offer ISDN.

When I first got involved with Cooker, all I had was a Mandrake CD
(6.0) and a desire to contribute. I would hope that others will be
able to do the same.
