I know that they are not all valid. But as I have near zero knowledge about linux on notebooks, i thought here on cooker someone could see if there are valid points in it, that can be fixed :) What belongs to the acpi=off, he states later down in the comments that he has choosen during install acpi to be on and the acpi=off was in the lilo.conf after that. I suspect it to be right as he was not able to see the loadkeys hint on a started rescue disc, but was able to complain about qwerty keyboard. > I am not sure what he is saying about LVM, but it isn't difficult to get > LVM setup during installation: > http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/screenshots/mandrake-9.1-lvm.png > http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/screenshots/mandrake-9.1-lvm2.png "While partitioning it was disturbing that it is not possible to define names for logical volumes in mandrake. My main concern was that someone with more knowledge about this topic should have a look at it, so eventually valid points can recognized. pro-linux is quite popular over here in germany.
