I have never been happy with Evolution's IMAP support, but it *was*
*worse* in 1.2!

The GUI may be slow, but there is nothing that can compete with the IMAP
 client code for speed. IMHO, it's worth it. Plus, good LDAP support
(better than Kmail/Kaddressbook, but no write support like Evo :-().
