Currently still a no-go. Two problems need to be solved before this bug:

1. Don't include any locale name with charset in /etc/menu-methods/lang.h.

2. upstream bug in gnome-panel.

Two words are not good in the gnome menu and are good in the KDE menu: 
1) Simplified-CH see the picture 1 for the error (GNOME) and 2 for the good 
spelling (KDE) 
2) TR-CH see the picture log179 for the error (GNOME) and 4 for the good spelling 
(KDE)
