esd goal is not to beep. It is to be a sound server and in 99% of case, you
really don't want to hear esd beeping each time it is spawned by an application..
So, closing as WONTFIX

I run a mixer program (aumix) and confirm that xmms (using OSS sound output
plugin) gives sound just fine. However the "esd" command gives no sound. There
was no such problem in LM9.1 or LM9.2beta1.
