For Thinkpads, we have:
- -thinkpad device driver in the kernel (new since 9.1)
- -tpctl in main (new since 9.1), and should work out-the-box (still need
to test 9.2beta on my Thinkpad).
- -tp4d is in contrib (new since 9.1), should work out-the-box for
configuring and using the trackstick on thinkpads (such as using the
vertical axis as a mouse button).
- -tpb (Thinkpad buttons) in contrib (was in for 9.1), works out-the-box
and supports the Thinkpad buttons, as well as OSD notification of power
changes (if using apm) and volume changes

I don't think there is any more Thinkpad-specific stuff. Only othe
feature I would be interested in is support for creating hibernating
partitions in diskdrake.

So, it looks like everyone else is behind (except maybe the ppc boys?)

It would be nice if we could either:
- -have a tool which asks you which laptop you have, and suggests/installs
appropriate software (hmm, if most packages work out-the-box, and there
are a limited number of laptop types to support, it may be sufficient
just to have a shortish perl script using libdrakx to install packages?)
- -can detect the laptops, and automatically install the software.

Buchan
