Well, they all are well-tested, the author is far more conservative than I am. 
And i don't want to maintain a subset of its work, it would really be heavy 
work.

The potential issue i see is the beginner trying to play a file with a crappy 
name such as file.AvI, preventing completion for mplayer, xine and co just 
because extension is not standard. Some angry people could again whine about 
non-standard behaviour on mandrake...

Anyway, it should now get installed by default for anything else minimal 
installation.
