------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-30-08 16:58 ------- use "noapic" on kernel command line, or recompile with local apic disabled. until the kernel is fixed, there is no other solution. please llok at kernel bugzilla. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: Here is my first report on ACPI on my laptop with ML9.1 rc1: - the power off at shutdown no longer works (it did with ML 9.0 and APM). - the reboot still doesn't work (like with ML 9.0 and APM). - all peripherals seem to work ok (USB mouse, sound, and ethernet) - klaptop displays the following message: "Your computer seems to have a partial ACPI installation. ACPI was probably enabled, but some of the sub-options were not - you need to enable at least 'AC Adaptor' and 'Control Method Battery' and then rebuild your kernel." I do not know if it is a klaptop bug, but not being able to see the battery level IS an issue. Finally, here comes the output at startup, if it can help: Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: BIOS-e820: 000000001fef0000 - 000000001feff000 (ACPI data) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: BIOS-e820: 000000001feff000 - 000000001ff00000 (ACPI NVS) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: have wakeup address 0xc0001000 Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: RSDP (v000 PTLTD ) @ 0x000f7710 Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: RSDT (v001 SONY K5 01540.00000) @ 0x1fef9a50 Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: FADT (v001 SONY K5 01540.00000) @ 0x1fefee4c Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: BOOT (v001 PTLTD $SBFTBL$ 01540.00000) @ 0x1fefeec0 Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: SSDT (v001 PTLTD POWERNOW 01540.00000) @ 0x1fefeee8 Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: DSDT (v001 SONY K5 01540.00000) @ 0x00000000 Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: BIOS passes blacklist Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: MADT not present Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: Kernel command line: BOOT_IMAGE=linux ro root=30a devfs=mount hdc=ide-scsi acpi=on Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: Subsystem revision 20030122 Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI-0262: *** Info: GPE Block0 defined as GPE0 to GPE15 Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: Interpreter enabled Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: Using PIC for interrupt routing Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: System [ACPI] (supports S0 S3 S4 S5) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: PCI Root Bridge [PCI0] (00:00) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt Routing Table [\_SB_.PCI0._PRT] Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKA] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 *9 10 11 12) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKB] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 9 *10 11 12) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKC] (IRQs 3 4 *5 7 9 10 11 12) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKD] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 *9 10 11 12) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: Embedded Controller [EC0] (gpe 1) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt Routing Table [\_SB_.PCI0.PPB_._PRT] Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: Power Resource [PCR0] (off) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: ACPI: Power Resource [PCR1] (off) Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: PCI: Using ACPI for IRQ routing Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: PCI: if you experience problems, try using option 'pci=noacpi' or even 'acpi=off' Mar 1 09:21:08 pcbarns kernel: apm: overridden by ACPI.
