I know APM works roughly okay, but:

1) I had the impression my soundcard worked better with ACPI (I get some pbs
with APM after a while or relogin)
2) Isn't it supposed to make my battery last longer? Because with APM, my fan
is always on, and my battery has 45 min of lifespan (2h30 on windows XP), I
did not measure with ACPI though. But I know that the fan was off most of the
time.

I will make other tests when final is out.

description:
Here is my first report on ACPI on my laptop with ML9.1 rc1:

- the power off at shutdown no longer works (it did with ML 9.0 and APM).
- the reboot still doesn't work (like with ML 9.0 and APM).
- all peripherals seem to work ok (USB mouse, sound, and ethernet)
- klaptop displays the following message:

"Your computer seems to have a partial ACPI installation. ACPI was probably enabled,
but
some of the sub-options were not - you need to enable at least 'AC Adaptor' and
'Control
Method Battery' and then rebuild your kernel."

I do not know if it is a klaptop bug, but not being able to see the battery level IS
an issue.

Finally, here comes the output at startup, if it can help:
