There nothing at all from evolution in .xsession-errors . I have found a way to
reproduce this chrash.
-- put an inboxmonitor in your gnome-panel and set it to launch 'evolution'
when doubleclicked
-- Start evolution by double clicking the inbox monitor - and wait for it to
start.
-- Double click the inbox monitor again. Now evolution creates a new evolution
window. Click 'x' in the titlebar as soon as the window is visible!
This leads to either seg-fault or in that the window is non-responsive.
-- Try double clicking the inbox again.
This starts a new *invisible* instance of evolution - this instance can only be
seen in the task manager (it will show up as sleeping).

description:
Evolution will chrash if you click the 'x' on the windowborder before it has
completed startup. I'm told that the window 'evolution' is not responding, and I
choose to force it to exit. If you do this evolution will show up as sleeping in
the task manager and you can't start another instance of evolution before you
have killed the rest of what's left of the old.
