description:
I tested the installation of Mandrake 9.2 RC1 from hdd, that is : extracted the 3 ISO
to an ext2
hdd partition and booted from a hd.img dd'ed floppy.
I tested both normal/expert, text/graphics install.
The problem is that, whatever software groups I choose, that is, from ALL to NONE,
through
SOME (ie : only KDE, KDE+dev, etc...), it always fails, after agreed to "activate
dangerous
internet servers" (if any), I get an error message : 'basesystem package not
selected', error in
/usr/bin/perl-install/install2.pm(.gz) line 210
But the problem is that no group named 'base' exists !! It must be some internal,
mandatory,
minimum software package (ie : binary kernel, init, etc....)
This is a blocker problem, because when clicked OK to the message, we get back to
groups
selection, and the problem runs forever..
