Adaptec apparently is of the opinion that linux does not form a significant 
portion of their market.  This is typical behavior and is why most Adaptec 
controllers have to be reverse engineered if supported at all.

All I can say is that my SCSI and SCSI RAID controllers are Advansys or other 
brands, never Adaptec and for the same reason.
