Of course it is.
Please read *between* my lines. ;-)

I just wanted to compare the user-friendlyness of MacOS and the user-friendlyness
of Mandrake which doesn't offer services for MacOS (netatalk) but for Windoze
and Novell.

Of course I have built my own rpms, but *I* have to watch for updates for every
rpm of my own which is not included in the distribution. If I make a new install
Mandrake then I doesn't need to watch out for new versions because the rpms are
already up to date.
Maybe you should read my posting again:
I was asking *why* netatalk is not included in Linux Mandrake!
(Licensing pbs? Insecure? Or what?)

If you feel it "totally unnecessary" that Mandrake only offers services for
Windoze and Novell but not for MacOS, then *this* job will be done by other
distros and *this* market (services for MacOS clients) is maybe totally lost for
Mandrake which is in all other points a very good distro.
And, please, don't make the mistake and think that netatalk is "totally
unnecessary"... it's just *your* humble opinion!
