------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-15-09 12:20 ------- Got the e-mail to check it. There were no environmental variables set for GDK_USE_XFT. The odd thing is, gnome-terminal seems to be coming up fine now. No issues on it being powerhungry or slow. I did also update several other gnome components from the cooker. That could have been the ticket right there. As to which one cleaned it up, got me. Thanks. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEEDINFO creation_date: description: Gnome-Terminal is slow to load. When the bash prompt finally comes up, the rest of the system acts rather slow. After consulting top and ps, I noticed that the process for Gnome Terminal was running from anywhere from 82.5% CPU to 93% with a memory pull of around 7.5% to 8%. This problem is repeatable. To ensure that it was not the bash process being spawned, I had tested it with a few other terminal apps including Eterm.
