Ok, so you'll probably want to know more about the network configuration
during installation...

I haven't checked it on the console at this point in the installation (will
try if I have time). I can tell you what I did though:

in all the cases I've installed mandrake I've installed it with a dynamic IP
address (dhcp), using expert mode and a single part zero-conf hostname.

Now I think about it, I've had some possibly network related problems with
e.g. CUPS remote printers (they're not shown), but I've never seen a visible
error about the network not being setup correctly during install. 


To summarize:
- if this is network related, there should be some information about the
problem presented to the person installing mandrake. This would be a
different bug in DrakX right?

Since mandrake 9.1 I've not been able to select a mirror for updates at the end
of the installation process (even though this step is announced). This used to
work in 9.0.
This problem is still valid in 9.2rc2
