------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-15-09 21:05 ------- I tried installing again, this time, after configuring the network as usual, I went to the console and tried to see what had happened. I had an eth0, since my realtek nic was detected and installed correctly, but dhclient eth0 came with an error: Internet Software Consortium DHCP Client V3.0.1rc11 Copyright 1995-2002 Internet Software Consortium. All rights reserved. For info, please visit http://www.isc.org/products/DHCP execve (/sbin/dhclient-script, ...): No such file or directory socket: Protocol not available - make sure CONFIG_PACKET (Packet socket) and CONFIG_FILTER (Socket Filtering) are enabled in your kernel configuration! I would suggest a feedback box to show the result of the dhclient config: ip number/subnet hostname, etc... Informative and a good check! - The installation kernel is missing some configuration options that are essential voor dhcp to run. I can't believe this has gone so far as this in the testing procedure! Could someone with the right knowledge assign this to the right people? -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Since mandrake 9.1 I've not been able to select a mirror for updates at the end of the installation process (even though this step is announced). This used to work in 9.0. This problem is still valid in 9.2rc2
