------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-17-09 22:20 ------- I did another install and I tried to verify the above comments. the directory /sbin doesn't contain the dhclient-script nor the dhclient one. Using the "ip" command I was able to assign a valid IP address and route to the ethernet device. I tried seeing remote printers on the subnet, which worked after I re-applied the network configuration manually, since this had been unconfigured by DrakX? I then tried (after configuring X, which drakx very nicely reminded me to configure) to finish the installation, including the updates. This failed because I assume the network had been unconfigured again and since there is no confirmation/retry option here, I was unable to do the updates again. Is this unconfiguring of the network a security measure? (I agree with this BTW) Wouldn't a common-sense firewall not be a better solution here? I hope you now have enough information to fix it (hopefully on time for 9.2 final) -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Since mandrake 9.1 I've not been able to select a mirror for updates at the end of the installation process (even though this step is announced). This used to work in 9.0. This problem is still valid in 9.2rc2
