OK, let's make a compromise.
I agree, they don't belong in Network->WWW.
However:
-none of them are generic text editors (anything where you have to use an
"export" option is not a text editor). If we put Mozilla composer in Editors, we
should also put OpenOffice.org Writer and OpenOffice.org Calc in Editors (they
can both export to plain text), and maybe more.
-The primary function of Mozilla messenger, Quanta and Bluefish is website
development. Thus, IMHO, there should be a new menu category:
"Applications/Development/Web (maybe there is a better name which implies it is
not only for on-line but possible off-line viewing - but most of these apps have
some publishing support specific to web development).
-Eclipse is not a mostly-single-task application like Quanta, Bluefish,
Composer, and it is a development environment, so I think it is placed well
where it is.
(BTW, vim, emacs, etc all can edit, syntax-hightlight, and intelligently handle
HTML/C/C++/perl/bash etc, probably better than Nedit, and have capabilities for
editing files remotely too - but they are primarily text editors, as their
native format is text).
However, I think it's too late to make a change like this, so I am marking this
as later.
But, these tools are more out-of-place in Editors than they are in
Networking->WWW IMHO (and even if someone thinks they are better in Editors, it
can't be significantly better).
So, let's just have this one fixed later?
