okay a few things i would try
1 go in the readme file and grab any updates you need (bet you need at least one)
2 grab the full kernel source archive (yeah all 20 megs of it) and do your own copy
(AnyDrakes want to cough up the .config and patches?)
just as a check you did make sure the Map file is correct (if it isn't SomeDrake needs to be shot)
its a bad idea to uninstall stuff unless you know exactly what its doing (retry the kernel.rpm?)
