PPro200 here, no overclocking. I also have a Promise
Ultra66 card with a rather unusual set-up: ide0&1 on
the promise and ide2&3 on the mobo. I have WD and  a
Maxtor

With the previous kernel, 2.2.16-??mdk I had DMA time
outs on one drive, but it had like 3 or 4 error
messages and then continued with the bootup; but now
it  just hangs.

Funny thing is that this only happens with one drive,
and I have 4; and it is not even the first (hdc, which
means 1st drive on 2nd channel on the Promise card) ...
