That is not the problem; I have been using the u66
with older kernels and with full speed for a while.
The problem is with the ide patches on newer kernels;
since when 2.2.17 came out on cooker, I haven't been
able to boot, since the kernel hangs during the
partition check with dma timeout (the same holds true
with 2.4.whatever series).
