Hi cooker, it's me ...again!
I also have an ASUS P3B-F mb with 6 PCI + one ISA sharing slot.
PIII 450, 320 MB RAM, Voodoo 3 3000 AGP and SbLive! xGamer...
Intellimouse explorer (USB too).
Two hard disk: hda is QUANTUM FIREBALL CX 12 GB and
hdb is WESTERN DIGITAL 13 GB
CDROMs: Pioneer DVD 10X-40X
        Memorex CRW-1622
(2X write, 6X read, I think it's the cheapest in the world
but it surprisingly works very well though:
I scrapped only 3 CD out of ~60 burned to date)

network: SMC Ethernet, Cablemodem.

I wiped my hda's partitions then installed windows me edition from
scratch.
( yes, I bought it, - I hate all Quake and Unreal,
but I LOVE Dynamix TRIBES and all westwood's real time strategie
games so I need Windows :)

I have Linux 7.1 (deluxe) on my hdb 1..8 and 5 GB on hdb9 for beta 3.
re-installed LILO for 7.1 on /dev/hda after intalled windows me edition
virus...

I installed beta 3 LILO on a floppy and left LILO of 7.1 on /dev/hda.
I boot beta 3 from floppy only.

Thus, it seems ( starting from beta1 ) that LILO of 7.2 can't boot
Windows 9x/me
in any case now :)

other issues:
PLEASE, DON'T IGNORE ME!!!!
network:
Where the f%$#% is HOSTNAME is assigned "default" in the initscripts
????
the only place I see "default" is in the /etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd-eth0.info
file!!! (HOSTNAME=default)
Also /etc/hosts only contains loopback info ( localhost.localhost ) !!!
( Obviously! )
And from where dhcpcd is called when eth0 is awaken ??

Thus, WHY HOSTNAME IS STICK TO DEFAULT ?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Mouse:
now that this USB intellimouse is automaticly configured (
congratulation! by the way ),
the wheel is not working anymore by default. ( I did not yet check
XF86config pointer section... ).
But the third button is working though. uh ?

KDE2:
kcontrol doesn't starts from the panel, I have to launch it from
cmdline. ( didn't try from menu yet )
Quick launcher applet doesn't work - not receiving keyboard input or
don't get focus - isn't it ?

..END...

Regrads,
Serge Lussier ... again!
