Sure it can. And you don't need the running linux, a small disk based is
perfectly well as well.

Of course not on the running system. Where did I say that? And with
resize_reiserfs you can make the fs bigger. All you need is a tool that
resizes your partitions + the reiserfs tool.

So what? Youself said that there are SHOWSTOPPER bugs in pm! Just because
there are a lot of bugfixes does not mean that the product is unusable.
It's simply a different development model.

I did not understand what you meant with "There is no industry-accepted

all this have to do wth chosing reiserfs or not?
