It's pretty obvious from guran's posting <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> what's causing this - 
choosing the "clear the tmp directory at boot" - which I always use.  If the 
mirror is mounted /mnt/tmp, then at reboot it becomes /tmp and so gets wiped 
out.

Why not remember the original fstab and restore it before reboot?
