Sorry Jim, by "you" I meant Pixel & Co. I don't think "We" can do anything
about it - this is something the drakes _have_ to fix.
Because I have presently little faith in them doing this, I have amended Ron
Stodden's rsync script to add this at the end:
# Now copy cooker to install directory ( WARNING: contents of this may be
# wiped out by Mandrake's DrakX installer ) ...
echo
echo
echo "rsyncing $COOKERDIR with $ARCHIVEDIR ..."
rsync -rltvP $ARCHIVEDIR $COOKERDIR
echo
where $ARCHIVEDIR is /mnt/downloads (/dev/hdg6) and $COOKERDIR is /mnt/cooker
(/dev/hdg5) on my box.
When DrakX asks me the location I'll tell it /dev/hdg5 / - then if that
gets wiped again, at least my /mnt/downloads will be intact (says he with
fingers crossed). I won't be able to check this for a week or so - I too
have a 56k modem connection.
