Hello,
Sorry didn't get the DrakX version this time.
I was finally able to get Mandrake Cooker installed on the test
machine at work but there seems to be a few problems.
I did installed via ftp (from a local machine rsynced to
sunsite.uio.no) and selected the expert install.
When it got to the package groups to install nothing was selected so I
selected everything (KDE, Gnome, Development, etc) including select
individual packages. But when it went to the individual packages none
of the packages that are in the groups I selected were selected. I
had to manually select everything I wanted.
Also in the the individual package listing there are several heading
that should be put together...
"KDE and QT" should be joined with "KDE and Qt"
"Window Maker" should be joined with "WindowMaker"
There were also some packages that had newer versions of the same
package in there.
libmng0-devel-0.9.3-3mdk
libmng0.9.3-devel-0.9.3-2mdk
Once everything was installed and it rebooted into the new install it
did not dismount the drives cleanly and they are all chkfsk'ed on
reboot.
I got the following errors on the reboot as well...
starting usbd failed because it could not find /proc/bus/usb/devices
even though usb started just before it with and [OK].
touch: /var/lock/subsys/keytable: no such file or directory.
httpd failed again for the same SSL reason so I had to comment out the
lines in the httpd.conf file.
/etc/sysconfig/desktop was not created. I created it with GNOME as my
default.
When gnome started up for the first time again it got the error of not
being able to link /mnt/floppy to .gnome-desktop.
I tried to read a cd-rom and it was not able to find my scsi cdrom
(a plextor at scsi id 3 on an Adeptech 2940)
Then on the next shutdown the system hangs and shutting down autofs
and I have to hit the reset button to restart the computer.
