Hello,

Loaded the kernel update this morning (kernel-2.4.2-5mdk), added the
necessary stuff to grub to pass the vga mode that the old kernel used
(otherwise X does that funky 1cm on the right side of the screen and the rest
of the screen blank thing that it does with the trident chipset in this
laptop), and rebooted. Got the following at the end before it died:

VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem)
Loading scsi_mod module
SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
Loading sd_mod module
Kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno=2
Kernel panic" VFS: unable to mount root on 03:00

is this fixable? fortunately can still boot with prior kernel, so haven't
lost anything.

Thanks,

V.
