OK, I got the libcss code and the code to build the plug-in for xine,
then figured out where libcss has to be so that the plug-in can
load it, and the good news is that xine actually comes up and will
play DVD's!
UNFORTUNATELY... has the same problem that ALL of the DVD players I've
tried - when playing a DVD the image in the playback window is the
upper left corner of the image, ie, the picture is too big for the
window. This happened with two other players (XMovie and LiVid's
OMS), and I'm begining to think this is an XFree problem rather than
a problem with the players Trying to manipulate the window causes
the computer to lock up solid - requiring a power off to reset it.
The computer is a Gateway Solo 9100 with Trident video chip set,
running the latest XFree from cooker (4.0.3 ? ).
I haven't tried connecting the vid out to an external monitor yet.
Hopefully later today.
OTHER than getting a new computer, any suggestions on troubleshooting
this problem?
