Hello, fellow cookers!
Looking at odds and ends I haven't been able to get working.. and one
that came up again yesterday was the sound server in KDE. This computer
uses a Yahama OPL3A type chipset, which works fine with XMMS and other
applications. I also have the "enlightened" sound demon running, although
have tested both with it and without it. Just can't get KDE to make sounds.
Configuration -> KDE -> Sound -> Sound Server has "Start aRts
soundserver on startup checked. Have tried the other check boxes - no change.
On the "Sound I/O tab, I/O method is Autodetect - there are no other
choices available. (could this mean it doesn't see the sound card?) Sound
Quality is also "autodetect"
Anyway, would be nice if this worked. Anyone else having this prob?
