There's also a kernel patch mentioned in their bulletin boards. I think it's
findable by going to the linux newsgroups and searching for "2.4" or maybe
"patch". Including this (source code included) patch is actually what I
meant by Mandrake "supporting" VMWARE. Not to include it, but to make sure
that it isn't broken by the kernel upgrade. I know (have read) that VMWARE
is also working on their end to make itself compatible, but when possible
it's nice to know that a new kernel/distribution install won't break the
software that I already have installed, and which is vital to being able to
coexist on one computer with someone who needs to use Windows. Not to
mention that I would think it a very useful tool for distribution developers
who are short on extra computers and time, but still would like to give
feedback or contribute in a meaningful way by testing applications or
providing support over the phone for multiple versions (since it ought to be
able to simulate a computer for use with a cooker install, another for an 8.0
install, and another for a 7.2 install, for example).
