I've asked this before and had no answer. I've searched through the cooker
mailing lists as well as KDE's bug reports. Obviously several other people
have experienced the blank menu under kcontrol and have posted their
questions. I've yet to see an answer.
According to what I've skimmed through on KDE's site this problem is a
Mandrake problem not a KDE problem.
Can anybody point me to the file where the X-KDE-BaseGroup=settings should be
located? I've kept my system up to date for months now but in the last month
and a half I've not had a proper functioning kcontrol program. Of course I
can copy the settings folder to the applnk-mdk folder and have it work
temporarily until update-menus runs again and clears away the settings
folder, but that's pretty ass-backwards.
Shall I go MicroSoft stupid and reinstall from scratch ?
