I have tried alsa several times, but have never been able to configure it
properly, since I couldn't find enough docs to setup modules.conf properly (dam
slots, cards, etc). I was using free OSS, but at some point with after 2.4.3 it
stopped working, and I had to fiddle with modules.conf again to make it work,
and lastly I could not, so I moved to 4Front (since I already had a license
from the early days); at some point after it broke, I had it working, but it
sounded with cracks and pops.
Anyway, I tried free OSS again yesterday, and it worked, but esd shows the same
problems, so I have the feeling it is not related to the driver backend.
Any more ideas? Any help on configuring ALSA?
My card is an Ensoniq SoundScape VIVO90.
