The reason NetMeeting is the only MS app that works is because it is
nothing more than an H.323 terminal.

If you do decide to run NetMeeting, keep in mind the security
implications: H.323, in a rapture of infinite wisdom, requires opening
_all_ _inbound_ ports above 1024.  You will probably want to run the
OpenH323 proxy on a junk box fully exposed to the internet, and then
use this as the gatekeeper to connect you with other clients.

Keep in mind also that MS Codecs are not compatible with open standard
codecs; your MS-chained friends need to set NM to "LAN speed"; this
sets their codec to be the open standard used in OpenH323.
