I don't know if you've been paying attention or not
but in the United Stated major computer manufactures
are starting to ship computers with Office XP. The
schedule for Windows XP is to release at the end of
August.
Since Mandrake one of the best alternatives to MS
products we need to get something out the door to
trump Microsoft's release.
Imagine the press Mandrake could get if your PR people
could promote Mandrake 8.1 as the only viable
alternative to XP. This is the chance Mandrakesoft
needs to go mainstream. Get a few press people (LA
Times, NY Times) out to interview key players at
Mandrake and ride Microsoft's Hype Machine as one of
XP's only alternatives.
Unfortunately advertising is something Linux has
lacked. Since Mandrake is public you should seriously
consider a PR firm that can handle the challenge. As
well a not drop Mandrake when Microsoft dangles a few
dollars their way.
