How do you know? Windows has long time proven it was the ultimate
operating system when it comes to large backdoors with flashy neon
sights. ;)

I visited the URL (the second one), and Steve Gibson seems to be a
Microsoft defender. So why would he lie in this issue? This would be
rather illogical. Only to get some attention? That could be. Though he
obviously lies when he says that he cares about the "future of
Internet". A vast majority of servers are Un*x running Apache.
Anyway, let's focus on Linux-Mandrake.
