I'm a newbie and I'm just trying to get my mind around upgrading with mandrake.
I've just got a ibm 600e laptop and want to put drake 8.1 on it but i dont have the cds with me at the moment. Apparently 8.0 has an issue with the trackpoint mouse so i installed 7.2 What I want to know is: If I add a path to the 8.1 RPMs (from the cd) on another machine to urpmi's sources and then do an auto-select is it effectly doing the same thing as if I were to boot with the cds and choose uprgrade. Will it also overide a custom kernel with the new binary one?
