It may prove useful anyway to have either the old lib or the link ready
for the "clueless Newbie Linux User".
As I did say in my original message, I solved the problem by using the
libSDL from MDK 8.0 (but I could as well have dwl the sources and
recompiled it ;-)).
IMHO, the distrib should be a&s easy to use as possible as it is clearly
intended to be used by both beginners and people who began with SLS on
floppy and Yggdrasil.
I'll check if the link do the job but it'd be fine to either have the
link (if it's enough) or the old lib installed in "non-expert" install.
