In a few moments, I will be submitting a bug report to this list.
It is my hope that someone on this list will register it in the official
bug database.

But before I do, I wanted to state a complaint in this public
forum, because Mandrake is by far my favorite distro and I want it to not
suck.

I've just spent a couple of hours tracking down a bug. Now, to
help make Mandrake better, I want to report this bug. I was amazed to
find that I need to register, getting a username and password, before I'm
allowed to submit my bug.

I'm astounded by this. I've finally fixed my stupid problem, and
-- worn out and sick of this crappy problem -- I muster up enough energy
to write up a bug report and find the Cooker bug reporting web page. But
now to submit it I'm supposed to deal with Yet Another Web Login And
Password.

Well: Screw you guys [sic]. I've wasted enough time on this
already. I'm all for making Mandrake better, but if I can't report a
problem with the snap of my fingers, I'll just let some other fool with
more time deal with it. After all, *I* know what the problem is, *I* know
how to work around it, and *I* just given myself a competitive advantage
by knowing how to solve a problem that others may not be familiar with.

My point is, requiring a login to submit a bug report is a barrier
that prevents bug reports coming in. I don't want to be a Mandrake
'community developer'. I don't want to subscribe to the Cooker mailing
list. I don't want to get involved. I just want to pass on my
information and leave.

So, in protest of this retarded barrier, I refuse to get a login.
I'm going to post my bug report here, to the mailing list, in the hopes
that somebody who cares (and has a login) will put it in the bug tracking
system.

Thanks,
Derek Simkowiak
