Sorry?! You do know about urpmi, do not you?

{pts/1}% sudo less /var/lib/urpmi/list.Installation\ CD\ \(disk1\)
removable://mnt/hd/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/docbook-dtd412-xml-1.0-7mdk.noarch.rpm
removable://mnt/hd/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/libsnmp0-4.2.2-2mdk.i586.rpm
removable://mnt/hd/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/xdosemu-1.0.1-8mdk.i586.rpm
removable://mnt/hd/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/drakfloppy-0.43-8mdk.i586.rpm
removable://mnt/hd/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/libpcre0-3.9-2mdk.i586.rpm
removable://mnt/hd/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/libglib1.2-devel-1.2.10-4mdk.i586.r
...

repeat for every list file if you insist on manual install. Else just do

urpmi some-rpm

and it will request correct CD for you.

Why write tools that nobody is using?
