AFAIK the partition table has not changed.

The new stuff is LDM (a kind of LVM). I don't know if anything can be done on
such a beast. The positive point is i've never seen it installed by default on
winXP.

The partition type tag equivalent to linux LVM (0x8e) is 0x42. fdisk would
show it as "SFS".
