Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, append=noapic
does not resolve the problem. What about the idea of
having a seperate laptop kernel? I know it is a bit
more work but there are a lot of things in the kernel
that are not needed in laptops and they often have
their own quirks. This would also allow for you to
shrink the standard kernel a bit from alot of the
laptop related stuff.
