How hard would it be to add a few entries to isolinux on CD2 that boot
the regular BOOT kernel for the install, but pass specific options to
the kernel (the following are just examples, developers would have
better ideas what would be common, what experimental code might be the
most troublesome in the real world, etc):

linux-noapic
linux-nobiospnp # yeah yeah I know it's not in 2.4.17 any more
linux-noauto

etc

From the point of view of tech support, this would give the client more
options to try (for some, pressing ESC then typing at the lilo boot
prompt is complicated <sigh> )
