I recompiled this kernel back to PIII later and did not have a problem. It is possible that it was another package causing the problem and it got fixed. I think that the first time it started with the ram maxed (but swap still fine) when I first logged in may have had to do with the cron jobs running after a reboot...they may have soaked up the ram. That in itself is not that unusual, except that I had the swap fill up a couple of times and slow the systeme to a crawl until I was forced to reboot. One of these I could attribute to draksync (see message "draksync (rsync) mem leak"). In short, trying to sync with a directory with a space between names (such as "Ghost Warrior") seemed to cause this problem. However it did happen a 2nd time and I have not been able to reproduce that one. > > si> very odd.... > > That is more than odd, if you found a way to > reproduce it, I will like > to hear. > > Later, Juan. > > > -- > In theory, practice and theory are the same, but in > practice they > are different -- Larry McVoy > ===== SI Reasoning [EMAIL PROTECTED] A requirement of creativity is that it contributes to change.
