Oh, I know.  I am on Cooker as well as a few other lists.

Indeed!  I have been for some time now, wondering whether Cooker needs
to split into some more specific groups.  For instance, I don't really
need, or care to see messages about KDE as I don't use it here, but I
do use Gnome so I would like to see messages about that.

Maybe initially the split could go:

cooker-kde
cooker-gnome
cooker-misc

and further splits of cooker-misc if that does not bring traffic down
enough.
